Thomas W.B. Porter joined LeChase in 2012 as vice president and general counsel, and has more than 35 years of legal and risk management experience. Tom provides guidance and representation on construction contracts, project issues, claims management and corporate legal matters—interacting with customers, subcontractors and government agencies. Additionally, he is responsible for supporting the enhancement of LeChase’s Risk Management Program, identifying, assessing and prioritizing risks, and employing resources and policy to minimize impact and maximize opportunity.
Prior to joining LeChase, Tom served as executive vice president and general counsel for Barton Malow, and most recently, was engaged with several large construction organizations in a consulting capacity.
He is a former national chairman of the Design-Build Institute of America, from which he holds a DBIA certification; he has also been active in other industry and professional organizations, including the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), the Construction Financial Management Association, the American Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association.
Tom received his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School and his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University.
Tom supports and helps guide LeChase in doing the right thing and adhering to all corporate policy and standards, as well as undertaking endeavors that support the business goals of the organization.
