Last week, members of the LeChase NY Capital Region team – Mike Corey, Kwasi Addo-Baffour and Evan Weitz – visited Troy City School District to help lead a toolbox building assembly as part of the district’s career day. The 3rd and 4th grade students at Troy CSD School No. 16 were able to experience many different career paths with hands-on assemblies throughout the day.
The LeChase team helped lead two toolbox building sessions for a total of 70 students. Both the students and teachers enjoyed the event, saying it was the best day of the school year, and many of the kids planned to give their new toolboxes as a Father’s Day gift.
This is the third toolbox build event that LeChase has done – in partnership with Curtis Lumber and the Workforce Development Coalition – to introduce younger students to tools and building. The team explained a few of the projects that LeChase is working on in the NY Capital Region and connected with the students on how cool it is to build things!
