The Duke University Chiller Plant 3 project has received a 2025 Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) Design Award. The PCI Design Awards program highlights outstanding projects utilizing precast concrete, evaluated across various categories by three jury panels.
This year, the juries selected 24 winners and 14 honorable mentions with the Chiller Plant project receiving the Best Custom Solutions Building award.
LeChase served as the construction manager on the project, which involved constructing a 36,223-SF, two-story chiller plant to provide high-efficiency, low-carbon energy to Duke University’s campus. This project was previously recognized in 2021 by the Associated Builders and Contractors Carolinas Chapter, earning the top honor in its category as well as Project of the Year.
