On February 8, the team working on the Greater Binghamton Airport terminal renovation project held a Lean planning session. One particular Lean strategy being utilized on the project is pull planning – a scheduling technique that prioritizes end goals. The sessions document and lay out the steps necessary to achieve the project’s objectives through open exchanges among the trade contractors and other partners.
The LeChase team has already led multiple Lean sessions targeting key milestones in this multiphase project and will conduct additional sessions throughout the project.
Work has commenced inside the existing terminal, with renovations in full swing and the implementation of a sustainable geothermal well system taking shape outside. LeChase is the general contractor on the project, which will update the existing terminal area and bathrooms, place two new boarding bridges, and add a new terminal hold room, front canopy exterior and parking lots.
