On September 8, an event was held to provide second-tier XBE subcontractors information regarding the Durham Police Headquarters project. Aimed at women/minority owned contractors as well as other businesses recognized by the government as underutilized, the session provided practical information about bidding and construction of the $52 million project. Speakers included (standing, left-to-right): Marcus Tuttle, senior project manager; Deborah Giles, representing the City of Durham; Steve Loneman, director of preconstruction; and Jesse Callis, of Callis Construction – a LeChase XBE partner.
