LeChase’s Durham team recently began installing steel sub-girts as part of a $50 million design-build exterior façade project for a large life sciences campus in the Triangle. The sub-girts – which will support insulated metal panels, louvers, curtainwalls and storefront openings – were panelized off-site. This prefabrication lessens time working at heights, speeds production in the field and eliminates the need for the roofing contractor to use fall protection.
