LeChase’s southeast operations have successfully completed the recertification process for the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL) Building Star Program. The program recognizes employers and employees for having effective safety and health management systems and achieving injury and illness rates that are within the Building Star criteria for participation.
Each year, member companies compile an annual report covering their programs and results. The recertification process that LeChase recently completed takes place every five years. It includes an in-person audit and assessment by the NCDOL at one of the company’s project sites. Onsite, evaluators meet with a sampling of employees, tour the project, examine injury rates, and evaluate safety incentive programs as well as the company’s health and safety policies and training.
In a letter approving LeChase for continued participation in the Building Star Program, Lamont Smith – NCDOL recognition program manager – noted: “We are excited and look forward to the continued working relationship between LeChase Construction Services, LLC. and the North Carolina Department of Labor. Together, we can promote safety and health at your worksite, throughout your community, and the state of North Carolina. I congratulate you and your employees on the excellence of your safety and health program.”
