LeChase’s Southeast region successfully completed its recertification for the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL) Building Star Program. The program recognizes employers for maintaining effective safety and health management systems and achieving injury and illness rates that meet the Building Star criteria.
Each year, member companies compile an annual report covering their programs and results. The recertification process, which occurs every five years, includes an in-person audit and assessment by the NCDOL at one of the company’s project sites. This year, the audit took place at LeChase’s Durham Public Schools Murray-Massenburg Elementary School project. Evaluators met with a sampling of employees, toured the project, examined injury rates and evaluated safety incentive programs, as well as the company’s health and safety policies and training.
