Last month, a group of 11 LeChase employees spent a day volunteering at the newly opened Paychex Junior Achievement (JA) Discovery Center.
The team worked with high school students from Greece Central School District, guiding them through the JA Finance Park Simulation. They offered insights as the students navigated decisions about savings, credit, lifestyle goals, and budgets. Each volunteer manned one of the 19 storefronts within the center – including the LeChase storefront – and focused on two specific categories of the students’ budgets.
The Discovery Center, which celebrated its grand opening in February, is the first of its kind in New York State. The center offers students the opportunity to apply their classroom lessons in the simulation. In addition to being one of the storefront sponsors, LeChase served as the design-builder on the project.
