City of Durham | Police Headquarters
This facility was built to serve as the main administrative building for the Durham Police Department and a number of support divisions/units that include personnel and recruiting, crime analysis, records, planning, and others. Durham’s 911 Center, which is the first digital call center in the state of North Carolina, is also located onsite. To increase public access and engagement, the ground level of the headquarters features large amounts of glass along the Main Street façade, and inside offers public art and award displays, a large all-glass lobby and conference rooms for community use. In addition to the 125,000-SF building, the project also included a 433-space precast parking garage as well as site improvements.
