Corning Museum of Glass | B Building Studio Expansion

The Corning Museum of Glass (CMoG) B Building Studio Expansion more than doubled the available space – from 24,000 to 60,000 SF – for glassmaking programs for artists and students. The completed space now houses the first large-scale kiln casting facility in North America as well as leading-edge glassmaking technologies, an artist-in-residence center and a two-year certificate program called The Glassmaking Institute. The project also doubled the Make Your Own Glass workshop capacity.

Lean principles were utilized throughout the project – starting with pull planning sessions that engaged stakeholders in collectively defining project milestones and the sequence of work.
