The Maplewood Apartments provide a modern housing option for faculty, graduate and professional students at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.
Built on University-owned property, the new mixed-use development includes community and retail spaces as well as three distinct housing types. Collectively, the five apartment buildings, 21 townhouses and stacked flats provide 444 housing units and 872 beds Given their high-efficiency construction, features and infrastructure, the buildings have reduced the site’s environmental impact compared to earlier student housing, built in 1989, that formerly occupied the space.
The Maplewood Apartments are conveniently located within walking distance to campus and Ithaca’s Collegetown area. The 17-acre site also features internal streets and blocks, a plaza and active green spaces for residents.
