Open Door Family Medical Center | New Ossining Medical Campus
This project involves the renovation and expansion of two Open Door Family Medical Center facilities in downtown Ossining, N.Y. Located at 2 Church St. and 165 Main St., the buildings sit across the street from one another but are from vastly different eras. The 1970s stucco building on Church Street will receive a modern update with a sleek glass façade, while the 19th-century structure on Main Street will retain its historic front.
The Main Street medical center, where most healthcare services are provided, will be reconfigured to better serve Open Door patients. Work will bolster the building’s wooden frame to strengthen the structure. The completed facility will offer expanded dental, podiatry, and optometry services, a wellness-focused meeting space, a women/infants/children department, cancer support groups, prenatal classes and more.
The building at 2 Church Street will receive a gut renovation and a 3,000-SF, glass-enclosed addition. The addition will include a staircase leading to Church Street and a public seating area overlooking the Old Croton Aqueduct walking path. A new staff entrance with access to a patio will also be added.
