Olympic Regional Development Authority | Lake Placid Olympic Center Renovations
LeChase completed two projects for the Olympic Regional Development Authority in New York. The work was part of an effort to upgrade the Lake Placid Olympic Center in preparation for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games, and will support future winter sporting events in Lake Placid. The first project included additions and renovations to the lower, ground and concourse levels of the Olympic Center Link Building – the section of the Main Street complex that connects the 1932 and 1980 Olympic arenas. A new dining area and retail store, as well as a new space for Lake Placid Olympic Museum that is housed in the building, were included in the project. In addition, LeChase rebuilt the James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval, requiring placement of new refrigeration lines, concrete and other structural layers. The renovations were completed on schedule, in time for New York State to welcome the global athletic community.
