LeChase joined Durham Public Schools, SGS Contracting and Evoke Studio Architecture to celebrate the completion of the new Murray-Massenburg Elementary School at a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 9.
LeChase Senior Vice President Seth London spoke at the event, noting that while delivering the project was challenging, “the common goal of creating the best school for our community drove our teams to not compromise, but to ensure we met that vision. We are excited for the many students who will learn and grow in Murray-Massenburg in the years to come.”
The new three-story school, which welcomed students and staff in August, is comprised of several wings centered around an open courtyard. The facility features a non-conventional layout and learning spaces, offers a variety of distinctive features and finishes, and meets occupant-focused standards that have it on track to be the first WELL-certified K-12 facility in the nation.
LeChase served as the construction manager on the project.
