The Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care has received a 2022 Jeffrey J. Zogg Build New York Award. The project was one of three this year to receive the honor, presented by the Associated General Contractors of New York State (AGC NYS).
LeChase served as Construction Manager-at-Risk for the 330,000-SF, seven-story Sands-Constellation Center, located on the campus of Rochester Regional Health’s Rochester General Hospital (RGH). The project team also included CPL Architecture and M/E Engineering. The building, completed in the fall of 2020, features 20 multi-disciplinary operating rooms, 28 post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) bays, 108 private acuity-adaptable patient rooms, 20 private postpartum rooms, 14 special care nursery rooms, and a new sterilization department.
The Zogg Build New York award program honors industry leading construction projects from across New York State. A 10-member jury of industry peers selects winners based on outstanding management skills, imagination, overcoming challenging and unusual circumstances, scheduling accomplishments and project innovation by the contractor/manager and the entire project team including the project owner, architect, subcontractors and suppliers. Winners will be honored at an event in Spring 2023
“The winners of this year’s Build New York Awards have demonstrated not only a high degree of skill, but a unique ability to successfully develop practical and innovative solutions to often complex problems,” said Mike Elmendorf, President and CEO of AGC NYS. “I commend the winners on the successful completion of each project and am once again proud to say that AGC Members have had a meaningful impact in their local communities.”
Earlier this year, the Sands-Constellation Center received another honor, an award from Terreal North America for the use of terra cotta panels in its unique, curved façade.
