On February 17, the University of Rochester held a topping off ceremony for its UR Medicine Ambulatory Orthopaedics Campus (AOC) project, adjacent to Marketplace Mall. LeChase representatives and other attendees watched as crews hoisted the final beam into place atop the project’s four-story addition.
When completed, the new 330,000-SF AOC, will be one of the most comprehensive orthopaedic surgery and outpatient care centers in the country. The new facility will enable patients with bone and joint conditions to receive state-of-the-art treatments. A spotlight of the facility will be the 58,000-SF Center for Human Athleticism and Musculoskeletal Performance Prevention (CHAMPP).
The project kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony in June of 2021. The surgery center will be completed by this fall. The patient tower is scheduled to wrap up in the fall of 2023.
