Recently, the LeChase team completed its largest-ever concrete pour in Rochester, N.Y. – and a video helped capture the action. Click here to watch.
Working on a 2.8 million-SF warehouse, crews poured 1.6 million SF of concrete. On average, concrete crews pour over 1,000 cubic yards – the area of an NFL football field – in a single day. On this project, workers placed 37 football fields of concrete in a short time.
Executive Superintendent Dan Kramell, featured in the video, noted that technology has been a game changer for enhancing capacity, as well as quality, in concrete work. For example, on this record-setting pour, crews used conveyers to place the concrete, and laser screening to precisely level it.
LeChase is responsible for all of the site concrete, footers, floors and sidewalks on the warehouse project. The job is part of more than a half-million work hours the company performs in trades like concrete, as well as masonry and carpentry, each year.
